In Depth
The Three Big Jetting Questions, Answered Honestly
What does hydro jetting cost?
Hydro jetting costs more than a basic cable cleaning because it does more: the equipment, the camera inspection before and after, and the time to scour the full length of the line. The final price depends on the length of the run, how bad the buildup is, access (an outside cleanout makes the job faster), and whether it's a residential lateral or a commercial grease line.
We don't publish one-size prices because they're never accurate — a 40-foot residential lateral and a 150-foot restaurant grease line are different jobs. What we do promise: the estimate is free, it's in writing, and the number doesn't change once you approve it unless you ask for additional work. Call 215-364-0133 and describe the line — we can usually give you a realistic range over the phone.
How often should a sewer line be jetted?
It depends entirely on what's in the line. A home with no root intrusion and good habits may never need jetting again after one thorough job — a properly jetted line usually runs years, not months. A line with active tree roots typically needs attention on a cycle the camera footage helps us estimate, often every one to three years depending on how aggressive the roots are.
Commercial grease lines are different: restaurants and commercial kitchens do best on a scheduled rotation — typically quarterly or semi-annual depending on volume — because grease rebuilds predictably. A maintenance plan costs less than emergency calls and gives you service records for health inspections. See our jetting maintenance contracts guide for the full breakdown.
What can hydro jetting NOT fix?
Jetting cleans pipe — it doesn't repair it. A collapsed, crushed, or badly offset pipe won't be fixed by jetting, and jetting a failing pipe can make things worse, which is exactly why we camera first. A belly (a sag where water pools) will still hold water after jetting. And a line with severe, structural root damage may clean up beautifully and still need a spot repair or replacement to stay open long-term.
When the camera shows any of these, we tell you straight: you get the footage and a separately priced repair option, and you're never obligated to do the repair with us. We'd rather lose a jetting job than sell you one that won't hold.
Is jetting safe for older Bucks County pipe?
Many 1950s–1970s homes in Southampton, Warminster, Feasterville, and the Levittown area still have clay or cast iron laterals. Sound clay and cast iron handle jetting well at matched pressure — the camera inspection confirms the pipe is sound before any pressure goes in. Heavily corroded or already-cracked pipe is a different story, and we won't jet it.

Straight Answers About Hydro Jetting FAQs
How much does hydro jetting cost in Bucks County?+
It depends on the length of the run, severity of buildup, and access. Jetting costs more than snaking because it includes camera inspection before and after and cleans the full pipe wall. We give free written estimates — call 215-364-0133 and we can usually give a realistic range over the phone.
How often should I have my sewer line jetted?+
Homes without root problems may go years after one thorough jetting. Lines with active tree roots typically need it every one to three years. Restaurant and commercial grease lines do best on a quarterly or semi-annual rotation.
Is hydro jetting worth it, or should I just snake the drain?+
For a one-time clog in a single fixture, snaking is the right, cheaper tool. If the same line clogs every few months, the buildup on the pipe wall is the problem — jetting removes it instead of poking a hole through it, so the line stays clear for years instead of months.
What can hydro jetting not fix?+
Jetting cleans pipe but doesn't repair it. Collapsed, crushed, or badly offset pipe, bellies that hold water, and structurally damaged lines need repair or replacement. We camera first so we never sell you jetting that won't hold.
Is hydro jetting safe for old clay or cast iron pipes?+
Yes on sound pipe at matched pressure — which is why we camera the line first. We won't jet pipe that's already cracked, collapsed, or severely corroded.
How long does hydro jetting take?+
Most single-family laterals run one to two hours including both camera passes. Heavy root masses or long commercial runs take longer, and we tell you on site if that's where it's heading.
Do I need a cleanout for hydro jetting?+
An accessible outside cleanout makes the job faster and cleaner, but we can work from an interior access point when there isn't one. If adding a cleanout would save you money on future calls, we'll quote it separately.
Do restaurants need scheduled jetting?+
Yes — grease rebuilds predictably, so a quarterly or semi-annual rotation costs less than emergency backups and gives you service records for health inspections.
Will jetting damage my landscaping or property?+
No. Jetting works entirely inside the pipe through an access point — no digging. If the camera finds a problem that does require excavation, that's a separate, separately priced repair.
Do you offer free estimates on jetting?+
Yes — free and in writing before work begins. Call 215-364-0133. PA HIC #5653, Registered Master Plumber, 20+ years in Bucks County.
